In 1995 the Smit family sold their coach building company named Smit Carroserie Fabriek to VDL. Jan Smit, son of the former Managing Director, kept on working for the company. But, as more often in this kind of situations, it didn’t work out, and on July 1th, 1998, Jan left the company he had worked for, for such a long time. After a short period of reflection, Jan realised that he didn't want to go on without doing business with coaches. This was also influenced by the fact that after he had left the Smit company, many of his former customers (with whom he had a long-time business relation based on trust and respect) kept in contact spontaneously.
In the meantime, the company ZUIDEIND was founded, and the second hand coach business was still going strong. This business formed a solid footing for the new company, but Jan wanted more than just that. So he made a careful investigation for the possibilities of a dealership. This investigation included the biggest part of the South European coachbuilders. Besides the quality of the product itself, also the price was important. Most importing however was the organization of the company , as well as the dealer support and the after sales activities they could offer. ZUIDEIND considers it very important to have short communication lines.
After about 6 month of investigations and negotiations with several coach builders in Southern Europe, ZUIDEIND selected NOGE S.L, from Arbuicies near Barcelona as the perfect producer of coaches. Many coach companies in the Benelux know NOGE from the BUSWORLD exhibition in Kortrijk, Belgium.
Nowadays ZUIDEIND is a full-operation company, that was successfully representing the NOGE product on the BUSWORLD Fairs. As well as publications in well-known touring car magazines ZUIDEIND has many satisfied customers that have been driven the NOGE Touringstar for years now.
NOGE is considered to be the best choice. The introduction of the new wheelchair-lift coach is the result of a very close cooperation with the factory in Spain. NOGE s.a. realizes the importance of the requirements of the BENELUX customers and is willing to fulfill these. This is one of the main goals for their export ! You will hear more about ZUIDEIND for sure!
Since the beginning of 2006 ZUIDEIND is also representing the Spanish MIDI-coach builder INDCAR (also from Arbucies near Barcelona). With this dealership ZUIDEIND completes its delivery program. With INDCAR ZUIDEIND can offer a good product for a very good price.
Since March 2009 , ZUIDEIND is located in a new building in Joure. |
